I think that the Kentucky Derby is a great day to get together with friends and family to watch the race. The excitement and adrenaline that pumps through your veins, is a 'You have to be there' kind of moment. I have been to one Kentucky Derby race in my life, and as soon as you step into the beautiful property of Churchill downs, its like your in a whole new world. I also think that it is a good thing for our economy today-It brings in a lot of money, of which most economy’s are lacking greatly in. The one thing that bothers most me, and a lot of people about horse racing is the amount of stress and hard work that are put on these horses at such a young age. It is believed that horses leg bones are not fully developed until they are four years old-But race horses start when they are between a year and a half and two years old, often causing many leg injuries when they are older.
